Barack Obama

About a month ago Allee and her friend Elise came over and were singing "Barack Obama, Barack Obama" They would giggle and sing it at the top of their lungs. Derek came home and asked if she was saying, "I love your mama". Allee thought that was really funny so she added it to her song. Now she and Elise play around the house singing, "Barack Obama, I love your mama." It is the most random thing but they think his name is sooo funny. They laugh and giggle the whole time. The up side? She now knows who the president of the United States is. I figured if she was singing his name, she better know who he is.

Project

Lately I have had a new project obsession. I have decided to put all of our video camera movies onto DVD's. For many people that would be a simple thing, but I am NOT technically savvy. It has taken ridiculous amounts of time and of course I am trying to get everything perfect, the sound, the music, and I am working on downloading pictures from when Allee was a baby. I can't help but wonder, am I crazy? So if anyone knows of some good songs about a mother and son, or some generic mother and baby music PLEASE let me know. I am just about done with Pierce's and I can't find any music to put with it. It is rather frustrating! This is why my blog is so out of date!

Happy New Year

For New Years we have a tradition of having dinner with our friends Ryan and Shanelle. Every year we have a pot-luck dinner and play games. It is a wonderful time and since our kids play so well together the parents actually get to play games. I was so proud of Allee. She is the only one who made it until midnight. That's my girl!
That has been our holiday's in a nutshell. They were crazy, fun, busy, and most of all enjoyable. We didn't even have a major catastrophe. How blessed we are!

Nine Months!

I can't believe Pierce is nine months old. He is getting big way too fast. I feel like he should still be a baby. He is perfectly content to sit and play. He has no desire to crawl or even roll for that matter and I am happy with that. He loves to give hugs and big open mouth kisses. It is slobbery and gross and I love every minute of it. He is such a happy baby and his smile lights up his whole face. Every day I am grateful that he is mine. A few days after this picture was taken Pierce broke his first tooth. That really made me realize how big he is getting. Even while I am typing this he is sitting behind me just babbling and laughing. What an amazing sound! In the last few weeks Pierce has also started this hilarious fake laugh. He doe it all the time and when you laugh back at him he does it even harder. It is the funniest sound I've every heard. He really is the most adorable and wonderful little character.

Christmas Morning

This was Allee's favorite present from Santa. She wanted a "bubble gum machine". She was so excited for Christmas this year. Allee really brought the spirit of the holiday into our home. She and I decorated a gingerbread house for the first time and she informed me that this will be a new tradition in our home. She is already planning what candy we will use next year!

Pierce loved these books. He is into the "touch and feel" books. I thought for sure he would like playing with the wrapping paper and boxes. He could have cared less. All he wanted was to be held. I now know he was teething. His first tooth popped up on January 4th!
My parents and sisters all came over on Christmas morning to see the kids unwrap the presents. We are so thankful that they came over. It made Christmas a lot more enjoyable because we didn't have to pack up the gifts and truck everything over to Gra and Papa's.

Christmas Eve

We have this wonderful little hill in our back yard. it is the perfect size for the kids to sled. It is also a hot neighborhood gathering spot. On Christmas Eve the whole family got dressed up in their snow gear and spent a few hours playing in the white stuff.

Every year for Christmas Eve we go to my parents and have dinner and play games. Papa and Gra always give the grandkids one present to open and this is when Christmas really begins. We love being together with the whole family. Dave and Stephanie make sure they alternate years just like us so everyone can be together at least every other year. We are very thankful for that. This year Allee was old enough to play the games and I think we played Trouble three times. I can't belive how big she is getting.

Our Sunday Best

Every year I have to take a family picture. This year instead of the tree, I really wanted our picture in front of the mantle. This was the best picture of the four of us. I think the kids were getting sick of me saying, "just one more".

Allee loved this gilttery dress. She wants to wear it every day. Pierce doesn't care what is on as long as you are done dressing him. He is so stubborn when it comes to getting dressed! Looking at this picture I realize how blessed I am to have these two beautiful kids in my life.
